A scarce original Great War period 'H.M.S. Concord badge, in the form of a hollow silver anchor with applied gold plated curved title scroll the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1917 and maker's details 'F.H.M' (Frank Henry Mannox). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no dents or distortions to the front.

In 1916 HMS Concord was assigned to the 5th Light Cruiser Squadron, which operated as part of Harwich Force in the North Sea to defend the eastern approaches to the Strait of Dover and English Channel. In 1918 'Ignacy Jan Paderewski' Polish pianist and composer and member of the Polish National Committee re-organising Polish state after 123 years of partitions, arrived at Gdańsk (Danzig) on board HMS Concord on his way to Poznań and Warsaw.

HMS Bellona was the name ship of her sub-class of light cruisers for the Royal Navy, entering service in 1943, the cruiser operated during World War II as an escort for the Arctic convoys, and as a jamming ship to prevent the use of radio-controlled bombs and in support of the Omaha Beach landings. In 1946 the cruiser was loaned to the Royal New Zealand Navy, returning to the Royal Navy in 1956 and scrapped in circa 1959.

HMS Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of her class of dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s, and was often used as a flagship. She served in the First World War as part of the Grand Fleet.
