A scarce circa 1928 period British Made 'West African Frontier Force gold and enamel sweetheart brooch'; fine quality unmarked precious metal in the form of a palm tree resting on a 'W.A.F.F.' blue enamel scroll. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, enamel perfect. Height 28mm. 'West African Frontier Force' (WAFF) had its origins in 1897. Formed in 1900, receiving Royal patronage in 1928 when King George V became Colonel in Chief and thus became 'Royal West African Frontier Force' (RWAFF). Disbanded 1960.

A rare Boer War period 'South African Constabulary regimental brooch'; hollow silver horseshoe mounted with a Tudor Crowned 'SAC' monogram resting in a laurel wreath; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1901 and maker's details "F.N" (Frederick Narborough, Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, contained in an original Victorian velvet lined fitted presentation case. Height 37mm. 'Major-General Robert Baden-Powell' was the first Inspector General of the 'South African Constabulary' it was disbanded in 1908.

A rare First World War period unique sweetheart brooch, handmade from mother of pearl shell and ornamented into a large sized 'British West Indies Regiment brooch', on the same design as the cap badge, a crowned oval title, the centre depicting a sailing galleon, all resting within a laurel wreath. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, an excellent example. Height 46mm. The British West Indies Regiment was raised in 1915 from volunteers in Barbados, Bahamas, British Guiana, British Honduras, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Leeward Islands.
