Royal Navy & Merchant Navy silver signalling flags brooch RUFF

A scarce original fine quality rhodium plated silver nautical pin badge, in the form of four signalling flags, flown from a mast, each superbly hand coloured in translucent enamel and spelling the letters 'RUFF' the reverse impressed 'Silver'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in good working order, no enamel loss, minor underlying lines to red enamel.
