A rare original First World War period 'Connaught Rangers gilt and enamel sweetheart brooch', on the style of the cap badge a 'Crowned Maid of Erin' seated within a ribbon scroll "Connaught Rangers" inlaid with blue enamel. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, gilt remains bright, enamel loss to left tip of scroll. Height 33mm.
