A scarce original First World War 'Westmorland & Cumberland Yeomanry sweetheart brooch', the reverse with evidence of having had a pin shank and hook, but for some unseemly reason these having been removed many years ago, otherwise I would have classed this in very good condition.
This is the first part of a large collection of First World War period, rare and wonderful sweetheart brooches, all in superb condition but with their pin fittings removed. These came attached on what could possibly be classed as a retailer's sample display board.
A very rare First World War period 'Westmorland & Cumberland Yeomanry sweetheart brooch'; heavy gold fronted badge mounted on a 1912 Officer's pattern style sword, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1916 and maker's details "A. Bros" (Ahronsberb Brothers). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings and all of the gold plating to the front of the badge.
