A fine quality scarce original First World War period 'The Duke of Cambridge's Own Middlesex Regiment sweetheart brooch', in the form of a miniature badge with heavy gold plated finish, mounted to a S.M.L.E rifle, the reverse bearing Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1914 and maker's details "A.Bros" (Ahronsberg Brothers, Birmingham). Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, complete with original rifle sling and all the gold plating to the front of the badge. Width 50mm. Height 17mm.
