A superb quality large jeweller made, unmarked silver officer's forage cap badge, the pierced gilt Garter set upon blue translucent enamel, the central Cross of St. George on red translucent enamel, the back and front crafted in separate parts and secured by four small rivets, the reverse with original substantial pin fittings. Very good condition, no damage to the enamel and contained in its original velvet lined fitted leather case.

These mother of pearl brooches were usually made by a local craftsman in Palestine (often Bethlehem) as one off commissions for British servicemen.
